LEWDEN’S
products are manufactured to operate in the arduous conditions of
the industrial and commercial environment.
All the LEWDEN
plugs and sockets in this catalogue have been tested and given an
IP rating. Products manufactured to IEC 60309-2 standards have also
been tested for their impact strength.
IP RATING
IP codes signify
the extent to which a product is protected against solid objects
or dust or water getting through the exterior of the product and
affecting its performance. IP stands for International Protection.
See Information.
IMPACT STRENGTH
All LEWDEN
IEC 60309-2 products rated 16A and 32A pass an impact test of 1
Joule which is the same impact as an IK 06 rating. 63A and 125A
products pass an impact test at 2 Joules, equivalent to IK 07. The
IK test is carried out at room temperature whereas the IEC 60309-2
test is carried out at -25oC, which is much more demanding.
